Copper Pointe is a biblical, dynamic and creative church. Our mission is to guide imperfect people to a perfect God. We invite you to come with us to experience Church like Never Before.

OUR SENIOR PASTORS

     Galen & Kay Woodward

Galen and his wife Kay came to Copper Pointe Church in 1981 to start a youth ministry that would grow to become one of the largest in the southwest. After serving for 12 years in that capacity, Pastor Galen became the Senior Pastor, bringing to his new position a vision that would serve the church, the surrounding communities, and the world for many years to follow.

Their practical teaching is not only life-applicable, but is personal and meaningful. Pastor Galen and Kay's experience and wisdom, coupled with continual passion and excitement propels CPC forward to reach beyond our walls into our city, across the border, and around the world.

Pastor Galen and Kay, along with their three sons and their families, are the heartbeat of all that takes place at CPC. They encourage others by their dedication and commitment to the work God is doing. Their passion for the days to come brings life and excitement for the future as we continue leading imperfect people to a perfect God.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

“There is one Body and one Spirit…there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God and Father of us all…” Eph. 4:4-6

IN ESSENTIAL BELIEFS:

WE HAVE UNITY

“...if I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at all.” 1 Cor. 13:2

IN ALL OUR BELIEFS:

WE SHOW CHARITY

“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters…Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls…So then each of us will give an account of himself to God…So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.” Rom. 14:1, 4, 12, 22

IN NON-ESSENTIAL BELIEFS:

WE HAVE LIBERTY

THE ESSENTIALS

  • One God - The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent “I AM,” the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit - commonly known as the Trinity (Deut. 6-4, Isaiah 43:10-11, Matt. 28:19).

  • The Deity of Jesus Christ - Jesus Christ is the Son of God. The Scriptures declare: His virgin birth (Matt. 1:23, Luke 1:31-35). His sinless life (Heb 7;26, 1 Peter 2:22). His miracles (Acts 2:22, Acts 10:38). His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross (1 Cor. 15:3, 2 Cor. 5:21). His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matt. 28:6, Luke 24:39, 1 Cor.15:4).His ascension to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9-11, Heb. 1:3).

  • The Holy Spirit - We believe that the Holy Spirit is the caring Spirit of God the Father who empowers us to live holy lives and to minister to those around us more effectively. We believe that the Holy Spirit baptizes us (a) into the Body of Christ, (b) into the fullness of His supernatural power. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and in the exercise of all the biblical spiritual gifts (Gal 5:16, Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8, 1 Cor. 12).

  • The Church - The Church has a mission to seek and save all who have not come to the knowledge of Jesus christ. We believe “the Church” consists of the people who, throughout time, have accepted God’s offer of redemption 0 regardless of religious denomination - through the sacrificial death of His son Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:19-20, Eph. 1:22-23, 2:19-22).

  • The Blessed Hope - We believe in the personal, visible return of Christ to the earth. We believe in the resurrection of the body and the final judgment resulting in the eternal blessing of the righteous and the endless punishment of the wicked (1 Thes. 4:16-17, Matt. 25:31-46).
